E. Charles Miller Artist in La Grande, Oregon

E. Charles Miller, Artist, Medium, Time-traveler.

The basics. E. Charles Miller and his family moved to La Grande, Oregon from rural Tennessee shortly after he was born. Charles has always been interested in the arts and as a young teenager began to produce drawings with great detail and accuracy, taking inspiration from various cultures such as Western Art with Native Americans.

His interests evolved to replicating ancient Egyptian and Greek Art, where he created historically accurate sculptures from clay and wood. Largely self-taught, Charles was diagnosed with a hearing disability at a young age. As a result, he does not read or write. He uses his art as a means of self-expression as well as a way to communicate. His Egyptian work has been exhibited at Cook Memorial Library in La Grande as well as at Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in Portland, OR. His artwork can be found in private collections in Portland and in California. He is currently working on a project creating costumes from the glamorous 1930s and 40s.
